How to Calculate Fuel Cost for a Road Trip

To calculate the fuel cost of any journey:

Fuel Cost = (Distance in miles ÷ Vehicle MPG) × Gas Price per Gallon

Example: A 500-mile trip in a car that gets 25 miles per gallon with gas priced at $3.50 per gallon:
500 ÷ 25 = 20 gallons of gas × $3.50 = $70.00 total fuel cost.
